Eating Disorder Therapy
At Empowered Wellness, we can help you work on eating disorder treatment as well as facets that are related to it. We can identify the anxiety, depression, trauma that can be related to your disordered eating and make a plan to achieve the results you desire.
Who This Therapy Is For
Eating disorder therapy at Empowered Wellness is for adolescents and adults who are struggling with their relationship with food, eating, exercise, or their body—and who want support in creating a healthier, more peaceful relationship with themselves.
We work with individuals experiencing a range of concerns, including:
Anorexia nervosa and restrictive eating
Bulimia nervosa
Binge-eating disorder
Emotional or compulsive eating
Chronic dieting and restrictive food rules
Fear or anxiety around eating
Body image distress or preoccupation with appearance
Compensatory behaviors, including compulsive exercise
Food guilt, shame, or persistent thoughts about food
Perfectionism and control that have become connected to eating or body image
Eating concerns that have developed or intensified during a major life transition
You may also be someone who doesn't have a formal eating disorder diagnosis but feels that food, exercise, or body image is taking up too much space in your life. And that is OK! You may spend a significant time thinking about what you can or cannot eat, feel anxious or guilty after eating, avoid certain foods or situations, or find yourself caught in cycles of restriction and overeating. We can help you with all those things!
You don't need a diagnosis to deserve support.
Therapy is a place to explore what is underneath these patterns, understand the role they play in your life, and develop a more flexible and compassionate way of relating to food, your body, and yourself.
