Frequently Asked questions

1. How long are sessions?
sessions will be between 50-55 minutes unless arranged prior.
2. What can i expect in therapy?
we will meet for the initial session and start the getting to know you process. I will ask you questions about what has brought you to therapy and some of the goals that you have being here. In subsequent sessions, I will follow your lead in some of the problems that you may have encountered between sessions and what is most important to talk about that day.

3. How can you help me?
I work with a broad spectrum of problems that individuals bring to the session including anxiety, depression, disordered eating, self esteem, and life transitions. we will come up with a set of goals together and make a plan to work toward them!

4. Why do you need a credit card on file?
credit cards are saved, using a HIPAA compliant program. I will never see your full card number unless you ask me to enter it manually. the card will be used to charge your co-pay, deductible, etc at the end of the session. it will also be charged for no-shows and late cancellations.
5. what is your cancellation policy?
you are required to give 24 hours notice to cancel the session. If you do not give 24 hours notice, you will be charged the full fee of the session. This is not something that is covered by insurance. This policy is implemented both as a commitment for you with therapy and i am blocking out time for you. there may be emergencies and they will be assessed on a case by case basis.
6. Do you accept insurance?
I am currently in network with blue cross shield and cigna. if your plan is not in network and you still want to make an appointment, i can give you a superbill that can be given to insurance and they may reimburse you for the session. (this is plan specific)
